Fudgy Walnut Brownies

¾ cup of walnut–cashew butter, plus 2 tablespoons for swirl
½ cup coconut sugar
¾ cup unsweetened applesauce
½ cup unsweetened almond milk
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract, or seeds from 1 vanilla bean
1 cup unsweetened natural cocoa powder
cup oat flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
¾ teaspoon sea salt
1 cup vegan chocolate chips
1 cup toasted walnuts, chopped
flaky sea salt, for finishing

 

 

  1. Heat up the oven to 350°F. With baking paper, line an 8 by 8-inch pan.
  2. Mix the ¾ cup of nut butter, coconut sugar, applesauce, almond milk, maple syrup, and vanilla with a hand mixer.
  3. Put on the cocoa powder, oat flour, baking soda, and salt. Associate until fully blended.
  4. Crinkle the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.
  5. Move the batter to the parchment-lined pan using a spatula. Use the remaining 2 tablespoons of nut butter on top and twirl.
  6. Bake the brownies until their top is rigid and begins to crack. Then, drizzle their top  with the flaky sea salt.
  7. Let the brownies cool. Move to a sealed container to store up to 5 days.
